		<description>Actually, Photoshop is a big part of that answer. That particular one is a composite, which isn&#039;t really in the spirit of the post. The star trails are from somewhere - who knows - but you cannot simultaneously expose for that amount of time and also freeze the clouds. Clouds are moving way faster than the stars and just look like haze with a long exposure, not to mention obscuring the stars. In addition, you&#039;ll notice the stars on the left are spinning on a different orbit than those on the right near the north pole. Nice and surreal, but definitely not real. IMHO, night photography is wild enough without the tinkering, but it is a nice image all the same.</description>

		<description>Rawsan, It&#039;s a camera set up in bulb mode (manually controlled exposure) where the camera is aiming at the sky for an hour or more. As the earth moved the stars make white lines. One just needs to ensure it&#039;s done on a totally black night.
