Pretty good list of drop downs! Would probably use basic css style navigations! But could be tempted to use jquery or mootools for multiple-column layouts!

You might also want to check out Menu.js, it’s a small JavaScript (drop-down) menu for developers. Free/open source and based on Prototype: http://www.menujs.net/

It just handles the basic JavaScript actions for expanding and collapsing the menu, including a user-friendly delay before hiding (or showing) the sub menu. You can use your own CSS styling to create any design you want!

The examples on the website are not the best looking ones, but check out the live-website examples for what it can really do.
