Airoplay is an API made for building custom games or game controllers. It’s made on top of JavaScript in a way that it can interact with all HTML/JS in-browser games.
The Airoplay developers site covers a few key features along with a short demo. You can register for free to create an Airoplay account for testing.
Note that while the API is completely free to development testing, real apps released online come with a small percentage of sales. Currently it’s 5% royalties on games released using Airoplay.
Currently the API supports a few sensors like key presses, touch motions, device tilts & lateral movement. In the future you can expect much more and further capabilities to manipulate gaming controls.

Here’s a brief list of possible game outlets for release:
- Native browser games
- Facebook games
- Smart TV/console games(in-browser)
- Mobile games w/ controller API
Airoplay is still a growing idea but as of now it’s freely available for anyone who wants to try it out.
