Steve Jobs, Always Inspiring

Last Wednesday October 05, 2011, we lost an icon, one of the biggest geniuses of our times, Steve Jobs. Jobs was not only an icon, he was an idol, an eternal source of inspiration, a master. From Apple fan boys and girls to those who insisted in going against his ideas, Jobs was really admired from most of us. People who would wait anxiously to see his amazing keynotes, people who would have every single Apple product but would go to a huge line to buy the new product he announced because after seeing his speech we felt that we couldn’t survive without the latest release.

We all knew that his presentations were over rehearsed but we didn’t mind and we actually liked all his perfectionism because his charisma and enthusiasm would get our attention in a way we could feel he was speaking directly to us, solving our problems, delivering something only we were thinking about. He knew exactly what to do to get us and we loved that about him.

Every single one of us probably already know his complete trajectory, from the early days in a garage to the glorious days as the man who changed the way people think, someone who dared to think differently and got all of us thinking differently too. So today we decided to honor Steve Jobs in a different way, with a little bit of silence and a few images, images gathered from websites that honored Steve, artworks from fans and some of his famous quotes.

In moments like this there is not much we can say, only thanks, thanks Steve for being so amazing. RIP.

“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.” – 2005 Stanford commencement speech

“It comes from saying no to 1,000 things to make sure we don’t get on the wrong track or try to do too much. We’re always thinking about new markets we could enter, but it’s only by saying no that you can concentrate on the things that are really important.” -Business Week 2004

“It’s more fun to be a pirate than to join the navy.”

“Stay hungry. Stay foolish.”
