Typographers, students and professionals in related arts and lovers of typography are looking forward to a brilliant type-centric conference running August 12th to the 16th.
In Denver, Colorado, the TypeCon 2015 conference kicks off under the tag “Condensed”. Last year’s conference held in Washington, DC went by the tagline “Capitalized” and the 2013 conference in Oregon was labeled “Portl&”.
Since their very first conference in 1998, annual TypeCon meetings have been dedicated to the exploration of type: Type on the screen, in print, type in motion, calligraphic arts, experimental typography, webfonts, and even the American Arts and Crafts movement, among many other subjects have been covered.
This year’s event is expected to be bigger than ever before. Planned events include the Type & Design Education Forum, an exhibition of international design and type, along with several special presentations by notable typographic professionals.
Over 60 speakers will attend the conference including:
- Dave Addey
- Camila Afanador-Llach
- Pouya Ahmadi
- Joseph Alessio
- Jan Ballard
- Marian Bantjes
- Rob Barnes
- Peter Bergman
- And so many more!
For those who would like to attend the conference, TypeCon 2015 is being held at the Sheraton Denver Downtown between the 12th and 16th of August. Tickets range from $100-$350 so it admittance can be a little pricy.
But even if you can’t go there will surely be designers and writers reporting on the conference. Be sure to ceck the blogosphere for news & updates on TypeCon 2015.
