Here on WDL, I’ve shown you where to find plenty of amazing free textures, and we’ve given you some exclusive textures as well. Now that you have access to all these resources, I want to give you some inspiration for how you might use them in web design. You’ll notice that some of the designs below make heavy use of textures, while others take a more subtle approach. Each method works well and compliments the content while adding lots of visual interest.

Do you even know what humble means? Just saying
Great collection, some of these sites are so pretty
Very cool. Quite a contrast to the shininess of many other, also cool, website designs. Very inspiring.

I have really been feeling textures on sites of late. Great timing.
It depends on the purpose of the website.
“Texture” can end up being the enemy of functionality.
A railway website needs to be functional. Most people just want to find out how to get from A to B and when to turn up.
Cuddlyness gets in the way sometimes!
example: Swiss Rail – http://www.rail.ch
Refreshingly simple and efficient….
Truly inspirational collection, thanks for the post!
Excellent roundup. Love the Ecoki site particularly!
These texture inspirations might just take my site to another level. ty

Great post! I agree with Nicholas in saying it is much better than gloss. More inviting and friendly, hands down. Thanks!
A good collection. I would say that just use the one that you need, I think the author not really want you to use everything here, we all know that we have our own style, we use different tools to design those tools we are comfortable using. This is just a variety of tools that maybe one of these are your must-have-tools.
great! very nice. thanks
Ha ha! The designer for StitchFeed left an amusing easter egg for visitors with 29″ monitors.
Nice round-up, particularly like Feedstitch and Carbonica.

Great post, great selection.
using texture in design is a growing trend that I love, love, love. The trick is to incorporate it into the design while retaining a clean look. Those are excellent examples how that’s possible.

Very nice roundup 🙂 The use of textures definitely make a website fresher and less static. Thanks for sharing this.
Bridge 55’s website looks the part, the textures they use for the background and attention to detail really suit their urban theme, some good examples there.
Great list of examples, I don’t think there’s even a design I’d class as just OK in here. They’re all stunning!
Amazing! These are good examples. I like FeedStitch the most. I like the blend of colors and the fonts used.
