30 Examples of Perfectly Timed Action Photography
We live in a world that is constantly in motion. Some things move very quickly and can seem like a blur, but with photography, we can freeze time and get a better look at the action. Action photography is all about timing – being in the right place at the right time. It’s also important to be knowledgeable about what you’re shooting, so you know the best moment to take the shot.
In this article, we’ve rounded up 30 examples of perfectly timed action photography. To see larger versions of the photographs and to learn more about both the photograph and photographer, be sure to click on the images.

March 31, 2010This is a stunning collection! None of these shots seem staged and some of them are quite hilarious. It would have been nice if you had included the title of the photographs so they could be referenced easier, though. #14 & #15 are my personal favorites. The expressions captured on the faces of the two boys playing volleyball in the mud and the man who seems to be loosing control of his cattle are priceless!

March 31, 2010The talent to capture these images (and the expensive equipment sometimes) is amazing–or just pure luck! I always seem to lack the right lighting when I see a wonderful action shot, or notice it too late. …you really do have to anticipate these shots!
The one of the hornet and both the horses/birds fighting are amazing.
