10 Incredible Sites to Improve Your Typography Skills
I think most would agree that typography is a difficult skill to master. A few months ago, we showed you some tools and tutorials to improve your web typography. While these are very useful, tools are only half the battle. Having a strong foundation of typographic knowledge is crucial. In this post, there are 10 sites that will help you improve your type skills through learning about typography. I would suggest following all of them if possible.

Typesites is an excellent source of typography inspiration. It is a weekly showcase of websites with interesting typographic design.
Typographica
Typographica is a review of typefaces and type books, with occasional commentary on fonts and typographic design.

Upscale Typography
Upscale Typography is loaded with useful typographic tips, new releases, pre-release notifications, historic references, trends and everything else typographic.

July 16, 2009Some great links.
http://typornography.blogspot.com/ is quite a good one, it’s more inspiring than anything, but I’ve found some beautiful things there in the past.
As well as at http://www.swiss-miss.com/ It’s not strictly typography, but there’s a strong love for the Swiss Style, and that’s a good basis for anyone learning about type

July 16, 2009Great list of resources, thanks!
I do have one little request: There are so many great sites out there that I don’t have the time to thoroughly read every site linked in a post like this. It would be incredibly helpful if a feed URL was listed with each site or, even better, an OPML file of them all was provided.

July 16, 2009Excellent post. I haven’t heard of a few of these. I also use Typechart.com for inspiration, although its primary purpose is to save time when choosing typography.

July 18, 2009Thanks for the post! I do refer a lot to “Typesites” and “I Love Typography”. But I also believe that simply going through these sites and blogs cannot help you to master the skill of typography. They might help you to develop a foundation of typographic knowledge but you need to experiment. The more you do it the more you can master the skill.
