12 Blogs That Can Expand Your Web Design Repertoire
Web design, much like any technology related field, requires those who make their living in it to stay on top of it’s ever evolving nature. To maintain a high level of work, a web designer must always be looking for ways to expand his or her repertoire. This can involve learning new techniques, finding new software to increase productivity, or staying up to date on the latest design trends. All of this can take a lot of time and effort, but the web design community if full of generous people who offer up their knowledge for free in the form of a blog.
Here are some of the best out there that are loaded with things you can add to your web design repertoire.
Web Designer Wall
Web Designer Wall is a great place to find in depth tutorials and articles about modern design trends. I would like for the posts to be more frequent, but that is overlooked due to the high quality of content.
Noupe
Noupe covers everything from css to flex. It’s also a great place to find design resources such as brushes and icons.
Astheria
Astheria isn’t your average web design blog. On it you won’t find tons of free phtoshop brushes, but you will find insightful articles and viewpoints about web design.
Smashing Magazine
Smashing Magazine is easily the most popular web design blog. It is a great place to stay on top of the latest in web design.
Six Revisions
Six Revisions has a perfect blend of web design and development articles, which makes it a great place for designers to expand their skills beyond Photoshop.

Some really great sites on this list, including some new blogs that I hadn’t seen before.
I also have to agree that the Envato sites (PSD/NET/VectorTuts) are a really great resource, and can’t forget about SpoonGraphics, Web Designer Wall, oh and Freelance Folder is another great one for us freelance designers.

Thanks for including me up there! I’m glad someone’s seeing where I’m going with Six Revisions – I do write development articles, but not overly complex stuff. My goal is for designers to pick up a few things about development, and developers pick up a few things about design. I’m a developer/designer, which is becoming more and more uncommon these days.
