Typography Inspiration: 20 Creative Examples

The word typography, from the greek word typos, is the art and technique of arranging type. And I have to agree that arranging typography is an art. Some designers have the right skill to transform normal type in inspiring and eye candy pieces. We decided to gather a list with inspiring examples of typography from three great sources for that: Ads of the World, deviantART and Flickr. From simple and minimalist examples to colorful and illustrated ones, we have a lot of nice images to keep the juices flowing for your next project.

I trained as a graphic artist/designer and teach art and design and it is interesting as someone who had to produce typography by hand how some styles age, others are eternal but what is consistant is how fonts come alive when a designer uses their skill to full effect. Wonderful to see and always will be.

Typography is an art! Id say that is the hardest part of design to get a grasp of, and it surprises me how few colleges and universities put a real emphasis on this important subject.

There are some fantastic examples of typography. I love the Brand of the World selection, good typography in adverts is always good. I love the ‘I Want Candy piece in deviantART, I’ve seen its repeated on many blogs. Typography can really make a design and it should be made more important in the design world.
