Last year, we saw the hand drawn style in web design become very popular, and this year it doesn’t seem to be slowing down. Hand drawn or sketched elements can make a web site inviting, and add an overall fun factor to a design.

I’ve hunted down some excellent hand drawn photoshop brushes and vectors to aid you in your own hand drawn designs.

It would be interesting and more useful to see some of these elements applied directly in the context of web design, rather than random doodlings such as these. Even better, if you post reusable elements that can be used by web designers. These would propagate the use of these hand drawn elements even more, which is what I really love to see. I’m a helpless sucker for anything close to mother nature. Still, thanks for the postings! :)

Great post! But there’s a typo: It’s “Primitive”, not “Primative”

Doodles (free hand illustrations) are like sprinklings of candy along a visual trail. As an artist,I am now working on illustrations for my website (which is undergoing a much needed major overhaul) precisely to give it that “fun” feel but also as a way to direct the viewer. The sky is the limit as doodles are personal expressions.
Oh and thanks for your great webiste. definitely a subscriber to remind me that anything is possible.

Why not just hand-drawn some elements?

To me these are a lot like “handwriting” fonts. Why not just, you know, hand-write it. That’s a lot more authentic and real.
