We all know about the countless web design inspiration galleries littering Google’s search results. Many are great, others are OK and some are just downright horrible. But one thing they all share is an affinity for inspiring websites.
This makes sense, right? How else can you get inspiration for a UI design?
Well a new site End the Echo has a different idea. This is a web design inspiration gallery full of non-website related inspiration. Here’s how the website’s creator explains it:
When I was at university we were given a project to design and animate some TV idents (the five second bits in between TV shows that say “BBC 1”, “HBO” or whatever). One tutor advised us to turn a TV on and see what was currently being produced. The other tutor advised us to stay away from the TV, to intentionally avoid it.
One tutor wanted us to see what an ident should do and what the latest trends were. The other dreamed that we might create something outside what had been done before.
My dream is the same as the second tutor. And my hope is that End The Echo might help.
End the Echo features lots of photos, collages, manipulations, digital art, and similar resources that do not pertain directly to websites. The idea is to pull concepts from these items and use them in UI work.
If you have time visit the site and see what you think. I believe you’ll be pleasantly surprised.
End the echo is the best part. I mean it strikes as soon as the page opens. A nice creative appreciable idea!!
