The CSS Awards: Honoring the Best of the Web

By / Dec 12, 2009 / Inspiration

The CSS Awards is a design gallery that showcases only the most prestigious CSS websites. Like most galleries, you can find plenty of design inspiration, but The CSS Awards offers much more. What I think makes it so great is that submissions are judged by a panel of people, and scores are broken down into multiple categories. This means there is a better balance to the gallery since selections are not based on one person’s opinions.

An International Jury

Instead of one person selecting winners, submissions to The CSS Awards are judged by an international panel of well known faces from the design community, such as Fabio Sasso from Abduzeedo.

Judging on Multiple Categories

While browsing the gallery, you’ll notice that when you click on one of the thumbnails it doesn’t just take you directly to that web site, but instead to a details page. Here you can see just exactly why that site was selected and how each judge scored it across multiple categories: design, creativity, usability, and content. They have an entire page explaining the judging process.

A Special Discount for WDL Readers

The CSS Awards has been kind enough to offer a special discount to our readers. During submission, just enter the code WDL50%. This will give you half off the regular price and is valid through December 30th, 2009.
