Since its introduction in 2014, The material design system has been influencing and setting the standard for clean and flat design. Since then, Google’s Material UX team has been scouting the internet in search for the best use of material design. They were humbled to find the incorporation of their designs guidelines applied across multiple different platforms.
As a result, Google decided to implement the first ever Material Design Awards. The concept behind the awards is to encourage a community of makers and designers to apply material design and recognize the excellence in user experience provided by the design.
