The Best Icon Sets for Minimal Style Web Design

With so many free icon sets available now, sometimes it makes more sense to not spend countless hours designing and creating your own. However, it’s important that you do find the right style of icons to match your design. In the case of minimal web design, it’s all about clean layouts, little use of color, and few design elements. This means that when icons are required, they should posses the same minimal design qualities. Here are some of the best icon sets for this type of design style.

Wow. Pretty much any style of icon you could ever need. I still think it’s a good exercise for designers to take a stab at doing their own. Good learning experience.

Excellent collection! I particularly like Free Vector Icons with its de-bossed effect and the pixel one definitely communicates the “utilities” (those important navigational elements that you just can’t remove to make your site cleaner, less cluttered and minimalistic)

Minimal web design is usually the best way to go. Streamlined user interface, no questionable buttons or actions, and everything just seems much smoother and easier to use from a UI standpoint.

I agree that minimalist design is great – and icons like these can add a such an irrestible touch of simple style without being too flashy.
